New Studio/Mark Howe

I share my studio space in Scrutton Street with some really cool people but we have just been told the building has been sold and we have to move! Lucky the five of us have decided to stick together so now I'm quite excited. We are going to decorate and make it a really inspiring enviroment.
I have always wanted a desk similar to the one above. Loads of colour and interesting things to look at. This actually belongs to Mark Howe, whose website I have just found. His work is amazing, I might even buy some for our new wall.

Noma Bar - Genius

I went to a great talk last night featuring the illustrator Noma Bar. His work was absolutely brilliant and throughly inspiring.
Deservedly, he is very successful in the industry and his work has been featured in The Guardian, BBC, Random House, The Observer, The Economist & Wallpaper, amoungst others.
He uses negative space in the form of a related object to create faces (in the Maggie Thatcher portrait he uses the Tory logo, in the Soporanos, a gun, and so on).
Not only is it very clever but despite his incrediably simple style, you can tell immediately who each face is. Brilliant.

Magnus Muhr

I saw these in The Metro on the way home from work today and thought they were really funny.
Sweedish Magnus Muhr (good name) creates the pictures from dead flies he finds in lights and windows and then painstakingly arranges them with tweezers, drawing on legs and backgrounds with pencil.
Simple but very effective.
